About Ms. Sawyer

Dear Parents,

Hello and welcome!! My name is Ms. Sawyer. I am originally from New York. I moved here in 1994. I am in my 28th year of teaching. I have taught at all grade levels in elementary school. I have a Bachelors Degree in Speech communications and a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education. I also received my National Board Certification. For the 2010 – 2011, I was Cherrydale Elementary’s Teacher of the Year.

My expectations for conduct and academic standards are extremely high. My goal is to help your child achieve academic success. I will be using a variety of teaching strategies to reach my students. I will be creating exciting lessons that will increase the success level of each of my students.  Along with your help, I am confident we will have a productive and enjoyable school year together. If you would like to visit or volunteer in the classroom, please let me know. I am looking forward to working with you so we can ensure your child will have academic success.
