I am happy to be on the MLP team at Cherrydale Elementary. MLP stands for Multilingual Learner Program. Before coming to Cherrydale Elementary, I was an MLP teacher at Alexander Elementary, a reading interventionist, a first grade teacher, and a substitute teacher for grades k-12. I earned my teaching certificate from the University of California, Irvine. In 2010, I earned a Master of Arts in Education with a concentration in learning disabilities. I am certified in ESOL, Early Childhood, Elementary, Learning Disabilities, and have endorsements in Gifted and Talented and Online Teaching . I earned National Board Certification in Early/Middle Childhood Literacy in 2019.
I am originally from Southern California, but after living in Greenville for over 20 years, it definitely feels like home. I am married and have four adult children, all of whom attended Greenville County Schools. In my spare time I enjoy being with my family, reading, and hiking.
I very much enjoy working with your children, helping them to learn to speak, listen, read, and write better so they have many more opportunities for their future! If you have any questions or concerns, please email or call.
