Mrs. Brightwell

I believe that four year old kindergarten is a magical time in the life of a child and it is my pleasure to be a part of this year in your child's life! After teaching third grade in Spartanburg County for five years and staying home with my own children for over 11 years, it was my dream to return to the classroom as a 4K teacher. During my time at home, I was privileged to teach 4K at St. Giles' Preschool and it was here that my passion for this particular age was developed.  I spent 3 years teaching K4 at Chandler Creek Elementary.  This is my 10th  year teaching at Dunbar.

On a personal note, I am married to Chad and have three wonderful children, Harris, John, and Caroline. We have a Basset Hound named Billie who brings us all a lot of joy.  During my free time, I enjoy cooking, reading, and just being with my family.

Mrs. Clauter

Hello! I am Mrs. Clauter and I am Mrs. Brightwell's assistant teacher. I'm so excited to be one of your child's Pre-K teacher this year! I've been working with young learner's here at Dunbar CDC for 8 years. I have also worked with special need children for several years. I truly love helping children grow, explore and discover new things. I am looking forward to getting to know you and your child. Please feel free to reach out to us anytime. A little about me personally. I am originally from the Philippines. I am married to Sam and have two grown children, Samantha and Sterling. We have one grand daughter Kora who just turned 2.  We have 2 sweet and spoiled dogs Mika and Luna. When I'm not in the classroom I enjoy spending time with my puppies, gardening, baking and nature walks. My husband and I love watching movies and we love to travel.
