I’m proud to be in my 22nd year of teaching physical education and my 8th year at Gateway Elementary. Gateway has been a part of my life for many years. I first volunteered in PE classes here in 1999 as a student at Travelers Rest High School and again in 2003 while attending Furman University. My children attended Gateway, and my wife was once a student here herself. Gateway truly feels like home for our entire family.
I’m passionate about teaching and committed to helping students develop healthy habits that last a lifetime. I do my best to lead by example by staying active and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. I've completed 16 marathons, including two Boston Marathons (2011 and 2023) and set a personal best of 2:56:17 (6:44/mile) in 2025. Since 2006, I’ve also made it a personal goal to run at least one sub-six-minute mile each year.
I’m excited to work with your children and help them grow stronger, more confident, and more active every day!
