Fourth Grade Chromebook Contract 


Students: The use of a Chromebook is a privilege, not a right. It is to be used for educational purposes only. 


Safety:

____ I am the ONLY person who will use my Chromebook.

____ I will not share my password with others.

____ I will never share personal information on the internet. I will not accept files, e-mails, or messages from strangers.

____ I will tell someone if something that I see makes me uncomfortable.


Respect:

____ I will always carry the Chromebook with two, clean hands.

____ I will not eat or drink near my Chromebook

____ I will not remove school stickers from my Chromebook.

____ I will be kind and respectful in my posts and comments to other students.


Integrity:

____ I will immediately tell my teacher or parent if my Chromebook is lost or damaged.

____ I will ONLY go to applications or websites that have been assigned by my teachers.

____ I will not create shared documents, slides, etc. with other students unless it’s for a project that I have been assigned by a teacher.

____ I will not take pictures or make videos without teacher permission.

____ I understand that my Chromebook will come home on Wednesday night. It is my responsibility to bring my Chromebook to school Thursday morning FULLY CHARGED. Choose a specific place to keep your charger at home.


I understand that I must show that I have the maturity and integrity needed to use a Chromebook. Failure to follow these guidelines can result in the loss of my Chromebook for a class period, a day, or a longer period of time.


Parents: 

It is crucial that students and parents understand our expectations for Chromebook use and care. Please check off that you have read and understand each of the guidelines below. Then sign the contract and return it to your teacher via your child.


The use of a Chromebook is for educational purposes only. 


___ I understand that Chromebooks are the property of Greenville County Schools and are monitored and tracked by the school district. 

___ I understand that my child will need guidance and supervision at home in order to become a responsible digital citizen. I can do this by:

___ I understand that I must tell my child’s teacher immediately if my child’s Chromebook is lost, stolen, or damaged.

 ___ I understand that a Chromebook should be used ONLY by the student to whom it is assigned.

___ I understand that my child should only access apps/websites that have been assigned by the teacher. 

___ I understand that my child will bring his/her Chromebook home on Wednesdays and must bring his/her Chromebook, fully charged, to school Thursday morning. Failure to do so may result in not being able to participate in some of the day’s activities. Student chargers must be left at home. Chromebooks will charge on a cart in the classroom. Chargers will stay home. 




Note: Please do not remove the barcodes on the Chromebook or charger. Students should not place stickers on their Chromebooks. Students are allowed to place papers under the cover which they are encouraged to decorate as they wish.
