Our Motto: Changing the Present for a Greener Tomorrow
Welcome to the Green Explorer website. Our goal is to provide you with useful information about environmental and conservation careers we hope makes it easier for us to help you.
Green Exploring will be a partnership between participating schools and part of Scouting's Learning for Life career education program for young men and women ages 13 to 20 (who have completed the eighth grade).
Our Green Exploring purpose is to provide experiences that help us prepare them to become responsible and caring adults. Green Explorers will learn the meaning of conservation and environmental interdependence in our personal relationships and communities.
Like all Exploring programs, Green Explorers are based on five areas of sustainability: career opportunities, life skills, citizenship, character education, and leadership experience
Sustainability Central is evaluating the possibility of transforming what was done for the Green Explorer Scout Post into STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathemantics) Digital Infrastructure Platforms to suport School Sustainability Programs.

CAN AN EXPLORER JOIN MORE THAN ONE SCHOOL SUSTAINABILITY CLUB OR SCOUTING CLUB?
If the club is part of a School program, they most likely cannot join another school's club because each school manages its own clubs and follows its own policy. However, within a school, the student may be able to join multiple clubs.
If the Explorer is part of the Scouting program, it follows the Scouting program's policy, which may allow a student to be part of more than one post or club without paying the annual Scouting Exploring participation fee twice or more.
HOW MUCH DOES EXPLORING COST?
Sustainability Central will work with the schools to determine what fees are needed. The annual registration fee per student for a Scouting Explorer Post is $50.
Each school or post will vote how to collect additional program fee to subsidize the cost of materials, uniforms, gear, or equipment.
ARE THERE SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE?
Yes. Click here to see the complete list
