AP Language & Composition

Advanced Placement Language & Composition is a one semester course which teaches the rhetorical skills necessary for students to be successful post-secondary students, employees, and citizens. Most colleges offer credit for an introductory level composition course in exchange for a satisfactory score on the AP exam (usually a 3 or higher --check with your college of choice). In this course, we will focus on argument, synthesis, and rhetorical analysis in our writing and speaking, skills which are assessed on the exam, as well as expository and narrative writing/speaking. Students will practice these types of writing throughout the semester as well as completing relevant readings to strengthen writing skills.
