Reading:  

   Vocab: belched, garlands, appease, barren, cinders, lagoon

   Skills: -tion, -sure, -ture, re-, -ly,

   Strategies: shades of meaning, central idea, making inferences, theme

Math:    We started a quick unit on geometry. Geometry gets difficult because of all the vocabulary. It’s a lot of new words that aren’t used a lot in our daily lives.

Writing:   Students are learning about poems and trying some out.

Spelling:   Double consonants in the middle of the word. Pretty similar to last week. EX: supper

TIP of the WEEK:  

Unit Studies:   Science is covering natural hazards and the effect they have on our environment.

SEL:   Reviewing previous topics as needed within the classroom.
