Class Rules & Expectations
School-Wide Behavior Policy
Every day, our goal is to earn 4 points in our PBIS system for being RESPECTFUL, RESPONSIBLE, RESILIENT and demonstrating these positive behaviors in specials.
Expected behaviors (following class rules, demonstrating good character) are what allows students to earn their points each day!
Unexpected behaviors (breaking class rules after redirection, not demonstrating good character) will cause your child to lose a point. Major infractions, or repeated minor infractions, will be communicated with you.
Classroom Behavior & Rules
My goal as your child's teacher, is that no child will fear making a mistake and that they are comfortable taking risks in the classroom to reach their maximum potential. The focus of my approach will be on using positive language- such as “please walk” vs “stop running,” so that expectations should always be clear!
At the beginning of the year, we will work hard to learn expected behaviors and unexpected behaviors (and how they directly relate to our class rules and Reagan's Character Traits.) Children will make mistakes and bend the rules from time to time, this will not be considered negative behavior unless it is repeated after redirection.
Each child and their needs are different and if there’s ever a serious concern, I will contact you directly. I want school to be a positive experience for both you and your child. If you have any questions, please call or e-mail me!
