2020/12/25 Tug Of War Activity
Even if it is Christmas , but It is not an exaggeration to say that tug of war is loved in our school, Dongshan High School. With the raging epidemic this year and the suspension of school celebrations, it is even more important to the Dongshan people.
Even so, the attitude of our class is always the same, that is, showing a disapproving attitude, and the goal is to end school at two o'clock. This can be seen at a glance in the following photos:
The other class has spirited-enthusiasm, while our class makes it like it is on an outing, without the atmosphere of competition.
In any case, no matter how we spend this annual event, we will not be in the mood to participate next year. And this is not a bad thing! Merry Christmas!

2020/12/15 G11 Research Project Presentation

Throughout the activities of the research project, from the topic discussion among the group members to the presentation of the results on stage, each group in the class worked hard to prepare and produce briefings. It took so much time to get praise from the teachers and experience in personal growth. It is really worth it.
Finally, the teachers gave the class a good evaluation. Our performance was higher than the teachers expected. They also gave drinks to the top two groups as rewards. In this way, the activity came to an end.
On 12/4 ,7th grade had a Christmas Fair! There were four classes 711, 712, 713 and 714. Each class had 4 groups and they all thought up their own games, so there were 12 games in total. There also were rounds for students to play other classes' games, so that everyone could play all the games. During the game the students would speak English, for example telling the rules to other students. Not just the 7th grade students we and the teachers also played some games. The fair was pretty fun and the atmosphere was for Christmas too.
The game of the first group of 714 made the most impressive to us. The game was so creative and challenging. The rule of this game was you need to pull a string with the candy cane and use it to make a wine bottle stand, if you win the game you could have a candy cane. Each person had 5 chances. When I watched other students playing I thought that was easy, but I was wrong. I also tried the game and actually that was difficult, because the wine bottle was heavy and hard to control.
Here was also a game where you needed to blow a balloon first and then let the air come out and the air could push a ping pong ball forward landed at the end line. If you successfully do that, you can win some prize.
After all the students played the games, there was a Christmas gifts exchange event. All the students had prepared the presents. Why were all the packages of the gifts were plastic bags? It is because after receiving the gifts they can bring the plastic bags to home and use it again and again. It was a recycling way to exchange the gifts.
The students were excited unpacking the gifts!
There was also a special activity. The rule was one student would hold a gift and the teacher would play the music when the music was playing. The student started to pass the gift to the next one and so on. So when the music stopped the student who had the gift could take it home!
In the end,we think this is a great opportunity for us to watch the way 7th grade celebrate their Christmas. It is a little bit difficult for them to think up a game but they did a very good job. They successfully made every game appealing, interesting and perfect. They are so cute and they even gave us candy. We also took a cute selfie with them. We appreciated the teachers who assisted the 7th grade students so many things and held this event. They must be exhausted. We enjoy this Christmas event and very into it!
Halloween is around the corner. Bilingual class is immersed in the atmosphere of Halloween. This year, they are celebrating Halloween by adorning their classroom and presenting their creative and fabulous performances. In order to display elaborate decorations, every student excited to come up with a wealth of astonishing ideas. For instance, a crime scene or even the moon has been made up vividly. With their phenomenal adornments, many faculties and students are fascinated by them. Some of the teachers even stop to take pictures of them.

GRADE 8'S class performance on Halloween
What’s more, this activity also reinforces students’ cohesion. Throughout the activity, some students asserted that their designs have been imitated by others.
Though imitating is no good in most of the situations, I think, this will be the sole exception. As claimed by a student in one of the bilingual classes, there are some conflicts during the activity due to the disparity between each other’s ideas. To solve the issues, they decide to have a vote. This action indicates that these kids aren’t those who fight against each other to defend their own ideas anymore.
They have grown into students with great responsibility. What can I say about the performance? These performances are definitely beyond my description. The costumes, the acts, and of course the singing are exuberant . There is even a section of delivering candies. Every student put a lot of effort into the performances.
Due to their great efforts, the performances are successfully finished. Despite the hard work, students break through the dilemma.
Finally, as Aeschylus said, Happiness is a choice that requires effort at times.”
