Get ready for an evening filled with wonder, excitement, and hands-on exploration! Students and their families will move from one captivating activity to another as they explore the fascinating world of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math).
Looking for project ideas? Check out our district's choice boards below.
Student projects can be dropped off on Tuesday, March 17th beginning at 7:30 am. Parents must assist students in delivering and setting up their project.
Our Nayaug STEAM Celebration will be held on March 17th and 18th with our night time family event on March 18th. Here's how it works:
Students choose an activity in one of these areas - Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math - and complete the activity at home. Possible ideas are on the Grades K-2 STEAM Calendar or the Grades 3-5 STEAM Calendar. Kindergarten students may select a Collection Journal as an option. See below.
Students fill out the Nayaug STEAM Celebration Registration Sheet to let Ms. Lucas know that they want to bring their project to school so we can be sure to have room for the project. Registration sheets should be completed by March 13th.
On Tuesday, March 17th, beginning at 7:30 a.m., parents assist students in getting the project to school where it will be checked in. Parents then assist in setting up projects on tables in the gym. All projects should include name, teacher name, grade and description of the project. You can use these forms - Individual Project Display Form or Group Project Display Form or certainly create your own.
Students visit the STEAM celebration (possibly with buddy classes) throughout the day on Tuesday, March 17th and Wednesday March 18th.
Families visit the STEAM Family Celebration Night Event on Wednesday, March 18th from 5:30-7:30 p.m. to check out the amazing projects and try some of the numerous hands-on activities related to Science (S), Technology (T), Engineering (E), Art (A) and Math (M).
You don't have to complete a project to come to the Family STEAM Night and you don't have to come to the night time event in order to complete a project.
If you want to use a tri-fold "science fair" board to display your project or pictures of your project, please stop by the Nayaug greeter's desk. Boards are available at NO COST.
