Mission Statement:

Our mission is to provide a child-centered environment where students learn to become knowledgeable, self-sufficient, contributing citizens.Our mission is realized by aspiring to the following goals:

• To recognize and maximize the potential inherent in each individual student; 

• To guide students to become independent, lifelong, purposeful learners; 

• To encourage students, as learners, to engage in risk taking, problem solving and critical thinking; 

• To provide authentic learning experiences that empower students to assume ownership of their learning environments; 

• To prepare students to be successful in an ever-changing, technologically advanced world; 

• To establish a foundation for each student’s lifelong relationship with the arts through exposure and experience; 

• To model behaviors that teach students to make caring and responsible choices; 

• To increase students’ appreciation and respect for the diversity inherent within themselves and others. 

We state these goals for the purposes of focus and reflection, so that we may continuously evaluate our success in fulfilling our mission. Attainment of these goals is possible when families and our school community collaborate to become, as our logo states, “Partners in Teaching Our Children.”
