For this syllabus, I just want to list some of the things we will be focusing on this year since I teach a lot of different subjects. I will update this as the year moves on and we move on to exploring new and interesting things! We are now using the Schoology platform to access courses and complete assignments so that website is below.

If your student has me for one or more of the following classes, here is what we will be focusing on for the start of the year:
Functional Vocational Math - This year we will be using the Consumer Math book. In this book we will look at subjects such as traveling, budgeting, paying bills, paying taxes, preparing for careers as well as other real world concepts.
Functional Vocational English - In English, we will be exploring writing sentences. We will start with the most basic parts of a sentence then move on to adding to our sentences to make them more complex. Each week, the students will be required to complete a journal entry to help practice their paragraph writing skills.
Functional Vocational Social Studies - Last year, we started to look at World History starting with the Renaissance and we moved into learning about the Reformation and New Science eras. This year, we will start by exploring the Industrial Revolution as it starts in Europe and move into the 20th century America to learn about the Revolution, Civil War, and World War I.
Functional Vocational Science - For science, we are using the textbook titled "Life Science" where we will explore living things. We will start with the smallest form of life then move on to learning about plants and animals.
Transitional Services - In Transition, we talk about transitioning into the future and complete activities to prepare students to attend college or to move into a career. This course uses activities to help students with self advocacy, choosing a career path, and living independently.
Advisement - Advisement is a program the prepares students for career and college readiness. If you need your username or password please let your Advisement teacher know.
