The Early Years
Founded in 1969, by a group of band parents looking to support the instrumental program at Grosse Ile High School, "Band Boosters" held cabarets and other fundraisers to purchase uniforms and instruments for the high school band.
Music Programs Expand
As music programming expanded across the district, the name was changed to Grosse Ile Music Boosters, with the supporting focus expanded to include all music programs in the GI school district, grades K-12. Today, we are a 501(c)(3) organization.
From Uniforms to Scholarships
Since its inception, Grosse Ile Music Boosters has purchased uniforms, instruments, choir robes, as well as subsidizing trips and providing thousands of dollars in scholarships to students in the Grosse Ile school district.
This is the 55th year of the Grosse Ile Music Boosters!
