Logging Service Hours
As a service organization, students applying to NHS are required to obtain a certain number of volunteer hours.
Junior Applicants: Minimum of 50 hours community service
Senior Applicants: Minimum of 70 hours community service
Students may begin accumulating service hours beginning the first day of their freshman year. Students are responsible for logging their hours and obtaining appropriate verification via SchooLinks (follow instructions below for logging hours in SchooLinks).
HOW TO LOG HOURS IN SCHOOLINKS:
Go to GHS Bookmarks
Click on SchooLinks (or log on to app.schoolinks.com)
Click “School” from the Menu on the left
Click “Experience Tracking”
Click the blue “Add experience” button on the right
NHS should be the default Experience Type. Add “Readiness: Community Service” to have hours count towards a graduation seal.
Be sure to enter a Supervisor’s Email (person in charge of service opportunity) - SchooLinks will send them a direct email to verify your hours in the system
