About Me

My name is Missy Morrissey and I will be teaching 5th and 7th grade math this year. I have been a middle school math teacher at TCGIS since 2011. In addition to teaching, I have held numerous leadership roles including Middle School Coordinator, QComp Teacher Coach, QComp Data Coach, K-8 Math Curriculum Coordinator, 5-8 Math Curriculum Coordinator and PBIS Coach.

Originally I came to TCGIS as a parent in 2007 when my eldest daughter began Kindergarten. As a student of education at Augsburg College in Minneapolis, I was fascinated by the benefits of immersion education and wanted to ensure my children had an opportunity to learn in a setting devoted to teaching immersion.

I grew up in Eagan, Minnesota and live in Saint Paul with my husband David, daughters Kayla (senior at Central High School/St Paul College), Elizabeth (5th grade), and two rescue dogs, Raava and Vaatu. When not teaching and planning math classes or camps, I enjoy spending time with my family swimming, watching my girls play volleyball and going on rollercoasters. We love playing Harry Potter trivia and someone in our family is always reading one of the books!
