Welcome to the world of Teaching and Learning!
Courses Taught
This course deals with the structure and bonding of carbon-containing compounds, systematic nomenclature of organic compounds, stereo-chemistry, and other organic reactions.
This course builds upon the relationship between the structure of organic compounds, the physical properties and the manner in which we can manipulate materials by chemical synthesis. We will investigate methods for structural identification and expand your knowledge of synthetic methods.
This course deals with the learning of chemical and physical properties of elements using the periodic table at a microscopic level. It also describes the properties of materials based upon their quantum structure. The shape of the molecules can be deduced upon using their electronic structure. It demonstrates an awareness of the role of chemistry in everyday life
Survey of Chemistry II (Nursing)
(Chem. 1152-Online)
This is a course in a two-semester sequence covering elementary principles of general, organic and biochemistry (GOB) designed for allied health professions majors. Laboratory exercises supplement the lecture material.
Conversations with Professors
(FYE-1000)
The class is designed to promote a conversation between a faculty member and a group of students in his or her college about how to get off to a successful start during the first week of classes. It is an opportunity for faculty members to help new students understand their roles as student learners and to express faculty expectations for student engagement.
Science by Accident First Year Experience (FYE-1220-S)
Thematic seminar designed to promote information literacy skills and support students' cognitive and affective integration into the University community. Required during the first semester for all students new to the University. The course provides with supporting arguments, the implications and importance of a scientific discovery. It qualitatively describe each scientific area covered in each accidental discovery.
