The Chung Lab conducts translational studies on the effects of diet on cancer prevention. Specifically, our projects develop methods to track the way cancer mutates and analyze how dietary compounds can influence this process.

We specialize in research relating to hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), the most common type of liver cancer. Washington, D.C. has the highest rates of liver cancer nationwide, and liver cancer prevalence is increasing around the world.

Please enjoy browsing the site, and we hope you learn a lot about us and our research.

Our lab is staffed with undergraduate interns, graduate students, and newly graduated research assistants. Students study fields from Chemistry, Human Science, Biology, and more! Our principle investigator, Dr. Fung Lung Chung, has trained dozens of researchers for future careers in medical school, research, and teaching.
