The Mission of the Library Media Program of the Guam Department of Education is to provide information in a variety of formats, teach the skills to use them, and instill a desire in students to read and explore, as lifelong learners.

Mrs. Patricia Santos Sison was devoted to her family, community, and the Catholic faith. As a librarian and educator, her career began at JFK High School from 1972 to 1976, then she served as head librarian at Benavente Middle School for the next 24 years. She retired from BMS in 2000. In honor of Mrs. Sison, the BMS Library was named Sison Library.
