The VMA's were on Sunday on September 9, 2021 and the group BTS .

Here's what BTS was nominated for, a total of seven awards: Best K-POP ("Butter"), Group of the Year, Song Of Summer ("Butter"), Choreography ("Butter"), Pop Video ("Butter"), Editing ("Butter"), And Song of the year ("Dynamite").

Unfortunately, they did not win all the awards like they did last year. But they did win some of the major ones like Group of the Year, Song of the Summer, and Best K-POP. They had walked away with these awards last year, and BTS walked away with four awards including the Best Group, Best Pop, Best K-Pop, and Best Choreography.

But this year, they were up against BlackPink, Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, Foo Fighters, Jonas Brothers and Maroon 5 among many others. This is a memorable message from the group's maknae Jungkook: "We feel so blessed and grateful for all the love we received this year. Thank you ARMY and WE PURPLE YOU."
