My family and I have lived in Gastonia for over 20 years. My two children graduated from Gaston County Schools. My son is in the Air Force and is stationed in Fayetteville with his children. My daughter is a CNA and graduated from Gaston College. I enjoy reading and traveling.
I graduated from Berner High School in Massapequa, NY. I then attended Concord University in Athens, WV and earned a BS in Elementary Education. I have a Masters of Special Education with a concentration in Gifted Education from the University of North Carolina Charlotte. I am also a National Boards Certified Teacher in Early Adolescence Math.
I have been teaching since 1986. I was a Lead Teacher with the After School Enrichment Program and a substitute with Newell Elementary in Charlotte. I taught 5th grade at Saint Michael's School in Gastonia. At Forest Heights Elementary, I taught 2nd grade and a 5/6 combination. I taught 6th grade at High Shoals Elementary. At Southwest Middle School. I taught 6th grade Math and Science. While I was at Grier Middle School, I taught 7th grade Math and Science as well as 6th grade Math. I have been at Holbrook Middle School since 2008 and have taught 7th grade Math and Science, and 6th grade Math, Science and Social Studies.
