About the teacher

I am a proud product of Gaston County Schools! Growing up in Mt. Holly, I attended Ida Rankin Elementary, Mt. Holly Junior High, and East Gaston High School. I earned my Communications and Business degree through Appalachian State University- a perfect background to educate teens in communication through reading and writing instruction. After college, I moved back home to Mt. Holly and taught for one semester before settling in Galax, Virginia. In Virginia, I taught 6th grade language arts and science. When my husband and I moved back to Gaston County, I picked up right where I left off; teaching 7th grade ELA at MHMS and now BMS. There is nothing quite like teaching, learning, and investing in your home community! Thank you for trusting me with your children! I love them!
