DEWEY DECIMAL CLASSIFICATION
The Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) is a system for organizing the contents of a library. It is commonly known as the Dewey Decimal System. It helps people find nonfiction books on any subject in the library. The DDC is the most widely used classification system in the world.
The DDC was created by Melvil Dewey in 1873. It was first published in 1876. The 23rd print edition was published in 2011.
