My name is Seán McHugh, I am a Primary School Digital Literacy Coach on the Dover Campus.
My role is to facilitate activities, both formal and informal, within a range of contexts and involving a variety of participants, which contribute to enhanced teacher understanding and practice involving digital technologies to support students’ learning. More importantly, to help you to understand the reasons why digital technologies might be appropriate for particular tasks and situations, make informed choices in their use, evaluate their impact and suggest new developments and possibilities.
I want to develop your skills by supporting you in risk-taking in blame-free conditions. I can undertake a variety of tasks with you, such as planning, observation, feedback, shared reflection, modelling and classroom enquiry.
You might find me at my desk in the Primary School Curriculum Unit.
Note: What my role is not.
I do not provide IT support, but it can be tricky to tell the difference between IT and Digital Literacy. If your computer is not working properly, please see IT support, if it is an emergency, then it is almost certainly an IT Support issue, remember there are 4 of them, and one of me, so you'll get results much more quickly if you go to them, even if it is an emergency. If your computer is working properly but you need help with using it, especially for enhancing teaching and learning, then book me. You can do this by checking my availability using my calendar in GAPPs, or below, to select a time slot that works best for you.
Email me smc@uwcsea.edu.sg with the time slot that you prefer.
My calendar can get pretty busy, so if you can't see a time that suits, just send me a couple of times that would work for you, and I'll move something else to make it fit. Alternatively, feel free to book me during by Plan & Prep time, or during Lunch Time; who needs food anyway?
