Mr. Daniel

Mr. Daniel was born in downtown Los Angeles, and grew up in the San Fernando Valley. He attended Valley School, Bassett Street School, Sepulveda Middle School, and Van Nuys High School.

Mr. Daniel is passionate about teaching 8th grade because middle school was one of the hardest times of his life. He would get in a lot of trouble with his teachers and even struggled a lot with grades and friends.

One of Mr. Daniel's best memories from middle school was unexpectedly getting the highest score on his math exam. That was surprising because he was not one of his teacher's favorite students.

There are many stories to share, and they will come as the year progresses.

Some of the amazing things that happened to Mr. Daniel since graduating from Sepulveda Middle School are:

  • Graduated from Van Nuys HS with high honors
  • Received a governor's scholarship, and got accepted to UCLA
  • Interned in Washington, DC, and worked for the US Government
  • Became a Fulbright scholar and taught in South Korea, where his parents are from
  • Got a full scholarship for graduate school at Seoul National University and graduated as the valedictorian

Needless to say, you never know what life is going to bring. It truly is a "box of chocolates", like Forrest Gump said. No matter what your goals are, or how you see yourself, don't count yourself out. We're only getting started!
