When you start building more advanced circuits or projects you would like to be more permanent, the jumper wires and breadboards you've been using aren't the best option. It's time to start soldering the components together. Soldering is the process of joining two or more conductors by melting metal between them so they are solidly connected and electricity can flow. Here's a quick comic guide to learning to solder. Note, the solder we use in school is not lead-based.
