This week, I have posted an End of Year Reflection for our class. Please provide me with honest feedback about activities and other things we've done this year.

Week of May 11th

This is our last required assignment week! There are TWO new things posted on google classroom for you to complete. One is your assignment, watching a shark tank pitch and writing a summary about it, I posted a video of the pitch. The second thing posted is a Self Reflection on the assignments we've had while learning online. Please complete both assignments this week.

Week of May 4th

So, we are finished with the Food Truck assignments. We had a lot more to do with them in the classroom, but virtually it just won't work out. Therefore, this week, your assignment is to think of a Good Leader and create 5 slides about them. Further information is on the assignment in google classroom. Miss y'all!

Week of April 27th

This weeks assignment in google classroom is for you to look at the presentation on Food Trucks inspired by Movies and TV shows. You will see if you can decide what inspired their designs!

Week of April 20th

This weeks assignment in google classroom is for you to look at the presentation about Food Truck Menus and then create your menu based on the requirements. Please let me know if you have any questions!

Week of April 13th

This weeks assignment in google classroom is for you to watch a video on the History of Food Trucks. You will then write a summary or a timeline over the information from the Video.

In google classroom, I have also posted a fun robotics programming project. It is 100% optional to join; it uses block programming, and it shows a leaderboard on who has completed the most missions. It is currently only showing you the steps to begin programming, once I see students making progress through it, I will add the more challenging missions!

Week of April 6th

This weeks assignment in google classroom is for you to watch one Entrepreneur make a pitch on Shark Tank. You will then write a brief summary about it. Please be sure to turn the assignment in when you are finished.

Hey everyone! I miss y'all soooooo much! I hope you are all finding things to occupy your time and are staying safe! I know the district has some plans coming up for y'all to have more things to do, but in the mean time if you are looking for things to do:

  • Watch Shark Tank! Youtube has free episodes, or I know they have the full seasons on Hulu, not sure about other online places
  • Think about things you could use RIGHT NOW that would make life just a little easier...could that be something you possibly recreate or invent!? Think about a problem and a solution that you could make for it!
  • Future Plans: We were going to begin working on our Food Truck Project which was going to last us almost to the end of the school year. Do some simple research on food trucks, and start thinking about what kind of food you would want to provide in your food truck!

Again, these are just some things to give you something to do for know, I miss you all dearly! I will be talking to you all soon hopefully!

Continue working on your Trip Itinerary Project. You should be working on Part 3 which is a detailed description of each days activities and costs. Make sure it is clearly marked as Part 3 and when each day begins "Day 1", "Day 2", etc...

We will be writing first thing this morning. I will provide the paper, you need something to write with. Once you have completed your writing, you will be working on Part 3 of your Trip Itinerary Project. Be sure to read over the instructions!

We will start class with a writing assignment. You need something to write with, I will supply the paper.

We need to prep the school store as we are opening tomorrow!

  • Add Takis and Slim Jim
  • Make sure all items have pricing on them in store
  • Update and print items list

If time permits, we will discuss where we are on our projects. I will be grading parts 1 & 2 today. If you are finished with those, you are to begin working on Part 3.

2/3/2020 - 2/7/2020

I am out all this week, you will be continuing working on your Trip Itinerary Project. You are working on Part 2. Be sure to carefully follow the instructions posted for that section. You Must tell your answers for all 6 of the criteria and the cost for each of them. Remember your total trip cannot cost more than $1500. There is an example on the instructions page. You need to also create a spreadsheet showing name and cost of each.

Once you have completed Part 2, you will work on flyers for the school store promoting the new items and Valentine's items. Create them on a google slide and then share the document with me.

Checkpoint 2: Part 1 should be complete. I should be able to see that your information is for Part 1 and all 4 questions/answers are numbered to match.

  1. Description of your Destination(s) and WHY you choose to go there
  2. Who are you traveling with and what costs you are splitting (if any)
  3. Concerns and Considerations you need to account for on this vacation
  4. What is the climate like in December at your destination

This week you are working to answer the 4 questions for Part 1, these need to be documented per the instructions on google classroom. Your checkpoint for Part 1 is on Friday! Inventory new items that came in! We need pricing, added to store, and added to price list!

1/27/2020

We will have our first checkpoint today. I will be coming by to ask you about the 4 questions below (25pts each):

  • Where are you going on your trip?
  • How are you planning to get there?
  • How much is your travel going to be to get there/back?
  • Where are you planning to stay?

You will then begin working on Part 1 of your project. The checkpoint for Part 1 is on Friday.

1/21/2020 - 1/24/2020

This whole week, we will be working on a new project. Before we start, we need to finalize the items to purchase that we voted on Friday. We will go over the information for the project, and you will work on it all week. Thursday we are in the gym for 8th grade meeting. There will be a sub in here with you on Friday.

  • Where are you going on your trip?
  • How are you planning to get there?
  • How much is your travel going to be to get there/back?

We will vote on which items we want to purchase for the school store, and finalize our information for our Trip Plans. If time permits, we will watch Shark Tank!

1/16/2020

Today, you will finish up your itinerary and then add costs associated with each step in your itinerary. Tell me what our total cost for this trip would be including 7 students and 1 adult. Once you have completed this, you will turn in the assignment on google classroom.

1/15/2020

You will build an itinerary for the trip to the location you chose. Your trip starts from the start of the school day until the time we arrive back at school that afternoon (no later than 3:30).

1/13/2020 - 1/14/2020

This week, we will be conducting research on the places we are choosing to go visit. First, we need to determine the differences between Main Event, Santikos, and Evo Entertainment. We will need to look at all 3 places, decide which things at each place we may want to do, and then decide which place it is that we will be visiting. Once you've selected one location, explain why this location is the best one to go to. What events are available to do?

1/9/2020-1/10/2020

We will work on getting the school store things updated. If you haven't finished your assignment, do that first. We need the bulletin board in the hallway to be updated, so we need new promotional items to put out there. We also need to decide when we want to open the school store again. I will be compiling a list of suggested items to purchase for the school store for you to vote on them early next week.

Continue working on the google classroom assignment for items to purchase for the school store. You must come up with at least 5 items to be voted on for purchase. You can use oriental trading, raymondgeddes, walmart, costco...

Welcome back! This week, we need to take a look at the places we want to visit using our fundraiser money; as well as, if there are any items we want for the school store. The school store is opening tomorrow morning. We need to make sure it is ready. Remember, it is counting as your final exam for this semester.

There's an assignment in google classroom for you to begin researching places you would like to visit with our Fundraiser money. The places you choose to visit need to be close enough we can leave after school starts and be back before school ends (not past San Antonio Area or Austin Area). They can be fun places, eating places, entertainment places, etc. The possibilities are endless!!!

Continue preparing the store for opening next week...Only two people sent me their flyers yesterday. Make sure school store is arranged. Begin thinking about businesses you may be interested in visiting next semester with our fundraiser money!

Today we will go over the Fundraiser information and discuss what went well. Then we need to prepare the school store for opening next week to sale our holiday items! (Make flyers, arrange the store, bulletin board updated, etc.)

We have the Volleyball Fundraiser game today, we need to make sure everything is ready for it!

Count money for voting! Make flyers. Announcement for ticket sales!

Counting money from the voting donations. We need to make a list of each athletes amount. We also need to make a note to give to the athletes that win to let them know what is expected of them.

We will not be in the classroom today. We will spend the morning cutting out tickets and making sure they are in order for the game! Voting will begin today during lunch, be sure to spread the word about how to vote for the athletes to play in the game!

Volleyball Game Flyer announcements! Read the assignment instructions on google classroom...you can add multiple slides for different important information topics...like one for announcing the volleyball game with ticket price, one for voting on students (dates, times, how it works), one for purchasing tickets (when, where, how much). Please put effort into these, they will be printed in black and white.

We will review through your choices of items for the school store. We will decide on items that will be most realistic that we want to add to the school store. We will also discuss information about handling money for the store and signing an acknowledgement form.

We will continue working on researching items for the school store. This assignment (both pages) is due by Friday. Be sure you are completing all parts to the assignment. Finding the item, telling me why we should sell it, how much it costs us, and how much we would sell it for in the store. The second page is 5 events, special days, holidays, etc that we could promote items in the store for. If we finish early, we will begin decorating/promoting the school store on the bulletin board outside my room.
