Aledo High School is home to four FIRST Tech Challenge teams: 

6566 - Circuit Breakers

9161 - Overload

13811 - High Voltage

20325 - Maximum Resistance

Team Circuit Breakers was founded in 2012. As interest in robotics grew, we added team Overload in 2016, team High Voltage in 2017, and team Maximum Resistance in 2021.

What's happening:

April 18th Coder Elementary STEAM night

Aledo robotics teams provided hands-on stem and robotics activities for 100+ elementary age students

Region XI STEAM Carnival

March, 2024 Over 500 students from around the DFW area visited our CTE Showcase area to have some fun and learn about STEM.


6566 created a Mario Kart robot for students to drive around a track

9161 helped students create balloon cars and engineer a ball pick up

13811 presented the basics of communication in the modern age

20325 helped students create ping pong ball catapults

January - February, 2024 Team 20325 interviews State Representative Dr. Glenn Rogers and Superintendent Dr. Susan Bohn about STEM education and robotics in Aledo and Texas for their podcast.

December, 2023 Team 6566 learns how to adapt electronic toys for children with special needs. They began by adapting just a few toys for Evalyn Scuderi. After receiving donations of more than 40 toys, they are expanding to help as many children as possible!

December, 2023 Christmas Tyme in Aledo - our teams provided a fun engineering activity for hundreds of local children. They built toothpick and gum drop towers for the elf on a shelf!

December, 2023 Aledo High School Info Expo: parents and incoming 9-12 graders investigate courses and extra curricular activities for next school year.


Aledo Kickoff

Aledo hosted the official Power Play kickoff for the west side of the DFW metroplex on Saturday, September 9th. We had 14 teams attend, along with PDP Mr. Cherryholmes and head referee Erika Diggs. Thanks to the members of 6566, 9161, 13811, and 20325 who made mini-presentations before the game release video.

August, 2023 Bearcat Nation 101 welcome event for families new to the Aledo School District.

June and July, 2023 Free Lego robotics outreach sessions every week throughout the summer at the Benbrook Library
