We will try to answer all your questions! If you have a question that we have not answered on the second grade website, please email your teacher and she will get back to you as soon as possible!
What do I do if my child is going home another way?
You need to contact the school office at 469-633-2900 before 2 pm and let them know of your child's dismissal change. We are busy with the children and often do not check e-mail or voice messages until after school or during our conference time so please be sure and call the office. For your child's safety we are unable to accept any verbal messages from your child. THANK YOU!
How do I request a time to talk with my child's teacher?
Please send a note in their daily planner letting the teacher know that you want a conference time.
You may also email or leave a voice message at any time you feel necessary. All messages are returned within 24 hours, or as soon as the teacher is available.
What do I do if my child forgot their lunch?
They may go through the cafeteria line with the other children. (It is a good idea to always have money in their account for emergencies.) Also, you may bring their lunch to the office and it will be picked up by your child.
When is lunch?
11:30-12:00 Please remember, if you plan on bringing your child lunch- please try to arrive on time. Not only do the students worry when their parents are late, but they also have to have their lunch finished by a certain time. We want to make sure everyone has plenty of time to enjoy their lunch.
What do I do if my child is absent?
If your child is absent, please go to the Spears website. At the top right is the "Report an Absence" button. You may report your child's absence that way. Without a note, your child's absence is recorded as unexcused. More than 18 absences can be considered for retention.
Also, please be aware of FISD policy that children must be fever-free for at least 24 hours before returning to school.
Please help us keep all the students and teachers germ-free and healthy here at Spears!
Can I bring Birthday treats?
Birthday treats are highly discouraged at school. If treats are sent to school, they may ONLY be non-food items. Any items not following this, will be returned home with the student that brought them. This is district policy. Thanks for your understanding.
