April Burns

Hi! My name is Mrs. Burns, and I’m so excited to be teaching first grade.  I am married and have six children, one granddaughter and two fur-babies. I’ve been teaching off and on since 1999 and first grade is my absolute favorite—it’s such a magical time when kids grow so much in reading, confidence, and curiosity.

I graduated from University of Phoenix with a Master of Arts degree in Education Curriculum and Instruction. My teaching style is warm, structured, and full of joy. I believe that every child can thrive in a safe, loving classroom that encourages exploration and kindness.

Outside the classroom, I enjoy reading, being involved with my church, spending time with my family, and being outdoors. I can’t wait to get to know your family and partner together this year.
