Hello! My name is Kristen Armijo. I live in DFW with my husband and our two dogs, Bailey and Benji. When I am not at school, I love spending time with family and friends, trying new recipes, and reading. I graduated from the University of North Texas with a degree in Elementary Education. I have been teaching at Phillips since 2018 and I am so excited for this year. I can’t wait to learn and grow alongside my students!

This will be my 5th year teaching and my 5th year at Phillips! I am originally from Frisco, so I was once in your shoes as an FISD student. I really value time with family and friends, I am often with them in my free time! I graduated from Texas State University with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. I am so excited to see what this new adventure in 4th Grade will hold for us! All my love!

I grew up in Hawaii and received my Bachelor of Education at the University of Hawaii. My mom still lives there and I try to visit as much as I can. My 6th grader and I now live in Little Elm with our lazy dog, Bot Bot. 

Phillips has been home for the last 12 years, with time spent in the Fifth, Third, and First. This will be  my 15th year in education and I am ecstatic to welcome in my first group of 4th graders! We’re going to have THE BEST year together!

Hello! I am Zakiya Provost. I completed my bachelor's degree at Prairie View A&M University. This will be my eighth-year teaching and my third-year teaching fourth grade, and I can’t wait to share my love and passion for teaching with you! I have been living in Texas for almost 13 years. In my free time, I play with my puppies, I love to go shopping, and travel the world. I am excited for a great school year!

Hello! My name is Monica Smith. This is my 16th year of teaching and my 3rd year at Phillips. I have taught 2nd grade, 3rd grade, and 4th grade. I attended UT Arlington for my undergraduate and graduate studies. I am currently enrolled in their principal certification program. I live in Frisco with my husband and 9-year-old son. I am an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and love teaching and learning. I am excited for a great year!
