Readerś Response Prompts
In fourth grade we encourage students to use text evidence when responding to their reading. Instead of just claiming that a character is nice and kind, the students need to locate places in the text where the author is giving examples of the character being nice and kind and write the instances down after making their claim. Students can be asking themselves questions like "How do I know?" or "Where is an example in the text of this?"
