Welcome to First Grade!
I am Lisa Porter and I am thrilled to be your child's teacher this year!
I was born in Connecticut, but moved to Texas as a child and I grew up in Plano. I attended The University of Texas at Dallas where I received a Bachelor's Degree in Child Learning and Development. This is my 12th year teaching at Isbell Elementary!
My husband, Kevin and I have 4 boys (yes, I said 4)! :) Kevyn is 27 and just got his Master's Degree. Carson is 26 and is living and thriving in the Houston area. Braden is 22 and is attending Collin College. Jackson is 9, and is entering the 4th grade at Isbell.
When I'm not teaching, I love to travel (especially the beach - that's my happy place), attend sporting events (GO RED SOX), read, and just spend time with my family.
I believe in creating a safe, supportive space where every child feels valued and inspired to do their best. We are going to have an amazing year!
