Structured Learning Class (SLC)

This instructional setting offers specially designed instruction for children with autism and/or other communication disorders who require support to build functional language and communication skills. The primary emphasis is on language/communication and behavioral needs at the preschool level with increased emphasis on academic support and functional routines at the elementary and middle school levels. The classroom environment is highly structured and incorporates positive behavior supports and instructional strategies in alignment with the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis. Students participate in activities with their non-disabled peers, as appropriate, to help generalize skills learned in the SLC classroom. These services are currently provided at preschool, elementary & middle school levels.

Hi everyone! My name is Bailee Capps and I am SO excited to be returning to my third year at Gunstream! I went to Texas A&M University (Whoop!) and earned my degree in Special Education. I returned to Frisco ISD after college, and now will be staring my fifth year teaching. I have one dog, Dak, who is my whole world! I'm looking forward to another great year!

I did my MBA in marketing from Sikkim Manipal University (India) and my bachelor's in HR. I worked in IT for 8 yrs. ,took 5 yrs of intentional break for my family .My kids are here in Gunstream elementary so i am super excited to work as a Paraprofessional .After break i have around 1 yr experience of substitute. When i am at home i like cooking food and spending time with family and friends.

Hello, I have worked in the corporate world for the past 25 years and I have enjoyed it very much. My wish was to work with kids at an elementary school and help with their development. I am looking to working here at Gunstream and hope to add value to the team.

Hi all! My name is Rumi Chatterjee and this is my second year at Gunstream Elementary as a SLC paraprofessional. I grew up in Sydney, Australia, did my Masters in Accounting and then worked in Big4 consulting. Since having my little ones, I wanted to work in a school environment which would allow me to balance work and family. Both my kids attend Gunstream and I love to be part of the Gunstream family, literally. When I’m not in school, I enjoy spending time with my family, baking and making cards and solving complex puzzles. I look forward to a wonderful year ahead!
