Math Strategies-

Bridge To 10- make a  10 to easily get an answer

Ex: 8 + 4= 12

10 + 2= 12

Doubles-

Ex: 5 + 5 = 10

Near Doubles-

5+6 = 11

5 +7 = 12

Friendly Numbers- anything can you recognize easily without having to count. Used with 3 addends

Mastery of strategies above become your friendly numbers

Ex: 8+4+2 = 14

8+2=10 then add 10+4= 14

Related Facts- Use the opposite operation to solve a problem

Ex:12 - 4 =8 or  8+4= 12

Number line- to be used count on (add/join/combine) or to count back (decompose/seperate/subtract)
