What are the school-day hours?
Students are in school from 7:45-3:05.
What should I do if my child is going home a different way than usual?
Please call the main office to inform them of the change so that the teacher is notified and aware. If you send an email, copy the office in case there is a substitute in your child's classroom. Please note that if your child is not normally a bus rider, they are not allowed to ride on a bus in which they are not assigned. Also, make sure that your emergency contacts are updated in the office.
What to bring to school daily?
Please send your child with:
a backpack
snack (healthy-ish & easy to open) - see below
water bottle (reusable, with a lid, with their name on it
folders (take home folders will go home every Thursday and need to be returned)
Lunch (if not buying from cafe)
Anything else needed - doctor notes, projects, etc.
*If you need help with any of these items, please reach out to your homeroom teacher.*
Can my child have a snack during the day?
Frisco ISD encourages healthy snacks for snack time. Vegetables, fruit, pretzels, and crackers are healthy and yummy! Your child's teacher will have a designated time for snacks. We also encourage your child to have a water bottle (with a cap) at his or her desk. If you have any questions about the Frisco ISD snack policy, you can refer to the student handbook on the FISD website.
Are you asking WHY math is taught differently now than it was when you were in school? Here is an excellent video that you might consider watching…Mr. Shah explains it very well!
