Hello Comstock families!
My name is Alicia Arruda and I am THRILLED to be rejoining the JKC specials team for the eighth year! I can’t wait to get back into the classroom and make more noise with your kiddos!
This is my 19th year in music education and my 9th year at Comstock. I taught elementary music for nine years in Richardson ISD and one year of middle and high school choir in Virginia. It did not take me long to realize that elementary is the place to be! I studied music at Liberty University, have a Master’s in Music Education from SMU, and am certified in Orff-Schulwerk.
I live in McKinney with my husband and my two sweet girls, Andi and Ada. I am so happy to have my girls with me at Comstock because there is no better place to learn and grow!
The music program at Comstock is jam-packed with performances and extra-curricular activities. Please be on the lookout for communication about:
K-4: Grade level performances
3rd Grade: Opera Field trip, FISD Elementary Honor Choir
4th Grade: Recorders, JKC Choir, FISD Elementary Honor Choir, and JKC Dance Crew
Thank you in advance for allowing me to take part in your students’ musical development. With your love, support, and encouragement, I know the JKC students will shine!
