Mr. Rose

Hello, my name is Howard Rose, and this is the beginning of my 5th year at Boals Elementary! I began my career at Boals after returning to Texas from a teaching career overseas. I spent 19 years overseas teaching in Cairo, Egypt, Al-Khobar (Damman) Saudi Arabia and Yanbu, Saudi Arabia on the amazingly, beautiful Red Sea! I've taught third for two years and this is my third-year teaching second grade. One thing I can say about this community is that you truly live up to our school's motto: "Kindness begins with me!"

The community has been so welcoming to me, and for that I am truly grateful and happy to be here!

I began my teaching career in the great state of Texas as a Science Teacher/Coordinator for grades K-6 with the Houston ISD and after four years I returned to my home in Alexandria, VA to work as a 5th grade teacher in Fairfax County.

I am blessed with a wife of 27 years, a wonderful 16-year-old, NHSS student and son named Noah, a sassy Beagle named Butter, and a spoiled Golden Retriever named Princess!
