Job Description
An Instructional Technology Resource Teacher (ITRT) collaborates with educators, administrators, and staff to integrate technology effectively into teaching and learning. This role includes modeling effective integration of technology into classroom instruction, facilitating professional learning, supporting curriculum development, and supporting innovative and best practices in technology use to enhance student outcomes.
Qualifications
At least three (3) years of successful, full-time experience as a teacher; Leadership experience preferred.
Hold a valid Virginia teaching license
Proficiency with current instructional technology platforms
Possess the ability to work with educators at various technology skill levels and have the coaching skills to move them forward to enhance their technology usage level in the classroom
Possess excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, and organizational skills
Strong ability to design and deliver technology training to students, teachers, administrators and other personnel in the school system and professional learning as it related to effective use of technology to enhance student outcomes
Reports to: Instructional Technology Administrator, Director of Technology & Principal
Performance Responsibilities:
Classroom Teaching & Modeling
Works collaboratively with individual teachers or groups of teachers on the integration of technology into classroom instruction
Models and promotes digital citizenship by facilitating safe, healthy, legal, and ethical use of digital information
Supports instructional technology integration using the Division’s Learning Management System
(LMS), assistive technology, curriculum based technology, and other innovative technology
Professional Learning
Disseminates information regarding instructional technology resources, emerging technologies, best practices using technology, and professional development opportunities as aligned to the Virginia Department of Education Standards and local curriculum
Coaches and assists teachers in effective instructional technology practices for division and school based online resources, apps, and hands-on technology.
Prepares and conducts instructional technology-related professional development and training for school staff. Meets with other division technology and instructional support personnel to plan division-wide professional development to serve all schools
Assesses levels of teacher and student instructional technology use and skills/needs before planning, developing, and implementing training materials and sessions
Curriculum Support
Works with appropriate division or school-based curriculum and technology staff to help school staff in integrating technology into the curriculum
Assists with curriculum development as it relates to instructional technology and the division technology and computer science plans
Creates learning resources, lessons, and activities for teachers, staff, and students Technology Planning and Leadership
Researches the use of newer technologies in instruction and maintains operational knowledge, including learning management platforms, software, hardware, assistive technology, and computer science as it relates to the VDOE standards.
Supports the development and implementation of the division’s technology plan.

Terms of Employment: Ten-month contract. Salary to be established by the School Board.
Evaluation: Performance on this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with the Board's policy and administrative regulations of certificated personnel.
