Bienvenue en 7th grade! You are going to learn so much more this year! You are going to have a fun and challenging year! You will start off the year by just being able to say "bonjour" and by June we will have conversations all in French! You will learn about food, travel, colors and how to express your feelings. We will also read a novel all in French by the end of the year. I look forward to teaching you this year at FAMS. Remember to ALWAYS speak French in class though!
Remember: always review all material taught in class that day. This will prepare you for the Problème du Jour as well as for your tests and quizzes

CLASS TRIP TO FAUBOURG RESTAURANT May 2024
On Tuesday May 21, 2024 the 7th grade French class enjoyed a fancy 3 course meal at a French restaurant. The restaurant, Faubourg in Montclair, NJ, hosted 20 students and served them delicious traditional French dishes. Students were served an appetizer called Tarte Flambée (Northern France’s version of pizza), followed by a choice of steak-frites, croque-monsieur (the French version of grilled ham and cheese but way better!), or a vegetarian pasta dish. For dessert, students were given an assortment of pastries which included warm Madeleines and Macarons.
The students ordered their meals in French and used French expressions when speaking to the staff. After their delicious meals, the students were given a tour of the kitchen by the main chef and owner Olivier. He even promised to teach them traditional French cooking once they were a little older! The owners and staff of this beautiful restaurant were so very gracious and welcoming to our FAMS students!
It was a wonderful experience for students and their chaperone teachers! Madame Zaporoshan is very proud of her 7th grade students. She cannot wait to take next year’s 7th grade students back for this unique experience.
