Dr. Marcy Pryor is in her thirty-fourth year as an educator. Throughout her career, she has focused on creating innovative and meaningful learning experiences for students with diverse needs.
One of Dr. Pryor’s signature programs, Beads ’n Me, is a student-run classroom business that has received both state and national recognition. The program was featured on the Emmy Award-winning Classroom Close-up, NJ, and received a Character Education Partnership Promising Practice Award. It also earned the New Jersey School Boards Association Innovations Award for creative special education programming, the School Leader Award for improving learning through unique educational efforts, and ABC-7’s Above & Beyond: Inspiring Students and Teachers Award. Beads ’n Me has been featured on television and in numerous publications, including School Leader Magazine, The Bergen Record, Suburban News, and Villadom Times.
Dr. Pryor was a recipient of the Governor’s Teacher Recognition Award in 2000. In addition to her work in public education, she has served as an adjunct professor at Fordham University and has taught courses in inclusion and autism through Columbia University for educators in New York State and Tobago. She has also taught online courses for students and educators worldwide through UniversalClass.
Dr. Pryor earned her Doctorate in Administration in Special Education from Columbia University, where she served as a research fellow. She also holds a Master of Education in Supervision from Columbia University and a master’s degree in Instructional Technology from New York Institute of Technology, where she received the Dean’s Award. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood, Elementary, and Special Education from Temple University.
Outside of school, Dr. Pryor enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
