About Us

My name is Jill Alcuri. I am super excited to be your third grade teacher! I grew up right here in Florham Park and currently still live in town so I know what a terrific school district this is firsthand. I have been truly blessed to become a Florham Park teacher right after graduating Montclair State University with a bachelors in elementary education and a minor in psychology. This will be my 23rd year of teaching, and I have spent all of my teaching career in the 3rd grade, so you can say I really love this age! 

I believe that all children are unique and must have an educational environment where they can grow physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially. It is my desire to create this type of atmosphere where students can meet their full potential. My goal is to provide a safe environment where students are invited to share their ideas and take risks.

Aside from teaching, my husband and I have one 14 year old boy named Joey. I am also an animal mom to a 5 year old cockapoo named Lucy, as well as our 28 year old turtle! When I am not teaching, I love to spend my free time with my family, walking my dog, going to the beach, cooking, and watching a good movie.

I am looking forward to a fun and successful year together! I absolutely love teaching third grade, and I hope you come to love it as much as I do!

Hello! My name is Colleen O’Brien and I will be your 3rd grade co-teacher. I cannot wait for all the exciting and fun things we will learn and discover together this year! 

I am very excited to get to know all of you, but first let me tell you a little bit about myself. I grew up on Long Island. I moved to New Jersey 6 years ago. This will be my fifth year teaching at Brooklake. I graduated from the University of Scranton with a degree in Early Childhood Education in 2014. Additionally, I graduated from Molloy College with a masters in Special Education in 2017. Prior to teaching at Brooklake Elementary School, I was a third grade special education teacher in New York City and a fourth grade teacher on Long Island. 

I am married to my wonderful husband, Chris. We have an adorable baby boy named Connor who makes us smile everyday! In my free time, I love going to the beach and spending time with family and friends.

I love being a teacher, it has always been a dream of mine! 3rd grade is so much fun! I can’t wait to work with all of you and have a very successful school year together.
