Homeroom: 8:05-8:10

Language Arts: 8:13-9:52

In daily reading instruction students are asked, both in discussion and through short and longer-answer written responses, to answer text-dependent literal, evaluative and inferential questions about literary and informational texts. Student's will be reading both fictional and non-fictional texts. Writing instruction is integrated with reading instruction, and varies from rapid daily writing (e.g. in journals) to single-sitting writing prompts, to long projects taught and implemented over multiple sittings.

Special: 9:55-10:43

Math: 10:46-11:34

-Daily Mad Minutes Multiplication to strengthen rapid recall of frequently used math facts. We will incorporate division later

in the year and supplement with addition and subtraction as needed.

-Visual Learning Smartboard activity to introduce the teaching point of the day

-Students will then work through 4 stations: Teacher Time, Hands On, At Your Seat & Math Practice

-Class will end with an Exit Ticket Journal to show understanding of the day's skills/concepts

Social Studies or Science:11:37-11:34

-Map Skills

-New Jersey's: regions, history, symbols, early settlers, through the Revolutionary War

Science:

-Next Generation Science Standards/CCSS for 4th Grade including Earth Science, Life Science, & Physical Science

-Ex: rock formations, fossils, weathering, natural resources, plants & animals, forms of energy
