2026-2027 Golf Tryouts

We have confirmed the tryout dates.  Keep in mind that we are at the mercy of course maintenance.  The two tryout dates will be 7/22/26 and 8/13/26 at Mag Creek.  The boys will try out on both dates so keep these dates reserved.  The girls will be split in 2 groups for try outs.  We will send that later in the summer.  In order to be invited to the 2nd tryout for boys, one must shoot a competitive scores to be considered.  That email will go out after the first 9 hole tryout.

Information for 2026-2027 Boys and Girls Golf Tryouts. 

- Your child MUST have a physical on file with the athletic trainer at the high school.

- Players will compete in a stroke play style tryout, 18 for boys and 9 for girls.

- We will not provide a make up date.  If you are only able to make one of the days then we will use that score.

- Your child must finish the required round in order to be considered for a spot on the team.  

- Players must provide his or her equipment for the tryout

- Dress Code - players must wear appropriate attire (No Denim)

- They will be competing with other upperclassmen who are both on the team and trying out for the team for the first time.

- Parents WILL NOT be allowed to walk the course during tryouts.

- Golf is a sport built on integrity, as a result, any person caught scoring incorrectly, will be disqualified from the tryout.

-Some advice for your child:  It will be in July, so it will be hot.  If they are serious about wanting to make the team, they need to play and WALK/CARRY their bag as much as possible leading up to the tryout.  Push carts are allowed in HS play, so they will be allowed to use that at the tryout.  

-Guidelines on how we evaluate for roster spots for the Boy’s and Girl’s Golf Program:

-Tryout score

-Previous years scores for returners

-Grade classification (EX: A junior shooting a 97 is different from a freshman shooting a 97)

-Official tournament scores from summer tournaments. (This can only help kids, as it shows improvement from the conclusion from school)

-The eye test (swing, short game, course management)

**WE WILL NOT TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION ROUNDS PLAYED OUTSIDE OF OFFICIAL PRACTICES AND/OR TOURNAMENTS**
