Super Starfish

Dear Families:

Throughout the school year each student in our class will have the opportunity to be our Super Starfish.  When it's your child's turn, they will bring home the Super Starfish bag containing Sophie Starfish, a binder, and five paper Starfish.  Please have your child use the binder to write and draw a picture about their adventures with Sophie.  Use the prompts on the paper Starfish to write or draw a picture before cutting them out.

Please make sure the Super Starfish bag is returned on the enclosed due date, so that every student will get their time to be the Super Starfish.  I have tried to arrange the Super Starfish selections around student's birthdays.  (Summer birthdays will be filled into the gaps.)  If you would like, you may send in a small toy prize at this time.  Examples:  pencils, stickers, Dollar Store toys, etc.  Please remember we are a "non food" classroom.  We currently have 18 students.

Students will share with the class what they wrote in the binder and on their starfish.  The starfish will hang on our Super Starfish wall for everyone to see.  Remember, this is a fun activity to build self-esteem and teaches students how each one of us is special and unique.
