Soon we will begin our book study of Wonder by R. J. Palacio. This book has deep meaning and themes, characters that tug at your heart, and a strong plot. Each chapter is from a different character's point of view. This allows the reader to see a situation from several first-person accounts. It is my hope that by reading this book students will have deeper empathy for others and choose to be kind.
R.J. Palacio has challenged schools to pledge to be kind and perform random act of kindness. We are participating in this challenge. Students will earn 1 marble to place in the Kindness Marble Jar for each kind deed. When the jar is full, our classroom will receive a CHOOSE KIND Classroom Banner and be eligible to win exclusive prizes. Students are encouraged to perform these random acts of kindness at home and at school. We are excited to watch KINDNESS spread across Meadow Brook, our Homes and our Communities!
