Meet Mrs. Whitehead

Hello! This is my 11th school year at Festus Intermediate School as the Computer Teacher! I am originally from Crystal City where I graduated in 2000. I then attended Meramec Community College, completed an Associate's Degree, then transferred to Westminster College. I graduated from there in 2004 with a degree in Elementary Education. I taught 3rd grade for 2 years and 4th grade for 3 years at Bartley Elementary School in Fulton, MO. While there I completed a Master's Degree in Educational Technology from the University of Missouri-Columbia. I loved teaching there, but really wanted to be closer to my family so we moved back here in 2010. I taught 4th grade for 2 school years at Hillsboro Elementary. I completed a Specialist Degree in Curriculum and Instruction in 2021 from Southeast Missouri State.

My husband is Matt Whitehead, and he is the Director of Special Education for the Hillsboro School District. We have 2 AMAZING little girls named Lauren and Kinley. Lauren is 12 and is in 7th grade this year! Kinley is 9 and is in 4th grade! They are my inspiration and have made me love being a teacher even more!

Please let me know if you ever have any questions. Education is a team effort between teachers, students, and parents. All of us need to be active participants for your child to be successful. Thank you in advance for keeping the lines of communication open.
