Chemistry I Honors is a sophomore-level science course offered at Fox Creek High School. The learning in this course is inquiry-based, emphasizing process skills and higher-order thinking skills. The student will learn the fundamentals of matter – their composition, properties, and interactions. Major concepts will include the composition and classification of matter, atomic structure and the periodic table, chemical bonds, and reactions. This course will require hard work and keeping up with the readings and assignments. It may also require that the student explore resources outside the classroom. There will be cumulative exams throughout the course to test the student’s understanding and grasp of the concepts. In order to ensure success in class, the student has to pay attention in class and keep a good daily study habits.
