REED RESCUE!

Use the links below to go to Russo Music's reed pages.

You can get the same reeds in town at Jack's Music.

These reeds are also available on Amazon and other online retailers!

Clarinet

Bass Clarinet

Alto Saxophone

Tenor Saxophone

Oboe*

Brands: I recommend RICO in the original orange box.  If you have an older student who is a reed connoisseur, they may prefer RICO blue box or Van Doren.  *The only oboe reeds on Russo's site are Selmer, but they may have a Jones if you call -- Jones is my favorite beginner reed!

Strength/Size: Beginners will like a 2 or 2.5; older students may have moved to a 3.  Check the back of their old reed for a number of what they have now.  Oboe only: medium-soft or medium (usually stamped on the cork of the old reed or printed on the label of the plastic case)

How Many???:  A three-pack is fine for a beginner, but older students who play more will easily go through a box of 10.  If your younger student is a little rough on their reeds, spring for the box!  Reeds may chip, but they also wear out through normal use.
