Art 1
Art 1 is suitable for all skill levels.
The beginning art student will be introduced to a wide variety of mediums, techniques and processes, and the more experienced art student will be encouraged to try new ideas and advance current skills within these same studies of mediums, techniques and processes. Students will also analyze how art fits into our daily lives, as well as how art can become a career.
This class is designed to introduce you to the elements and principles of art while exploring a variety of mediums including (but not limited to) drawing, painting, pastels, pen and ink, and mixed media (both 2D and 3D).
You will learn how to use art supplies to communicate your ideas; engaging a creative and visual mindset. In this class you will be challenged to find creative and unique solutions to problems. It is the use of creative problem solving skills that fosters higher level thinking skills.
Art will also offer you the opportunity to work cooperatively, to be responsible, and to appreciate other cultures.
